that's what it looks like to me, looks like a slight ridge between the black and red where the decal was removed.

I just used vinyl on mine, it's held up through 3-4 months of use now and looks good with washing, bugs, rain, frost, heat, everything. I might redo the back one since i did it kind of fast and it could use a touchup.

I was leaving town one day and was at the gas station and my dealer happened to be in front of me. Said hi and all that and he was staring at my car, and said "man something is different, what it is?" Then he noticed the bowties and said how great it looked and that GM should put them out like that. Just the small small mod made my car look so different, i hated the gold.

And now i get to drive the wife's aveo today, she stole the hhr...

Very nice, can i steal it? Is this to scale, personally would like it to be just slightly smaller

Steal away. It's just for visual purposes without the headache. I liked Ivtechs version and his avatar, so I wanted to see a variation of that combo.
Scale is approximate (not that good in Photoshop yet) to side emblems. The rear emblem is smaller, so I think that would be better. Also, I'm more inclined to think it would look better if the whole grill was the black mesh style without the red support crossbar, so a visual may follow along that line.

I do like the look with the emblems on but from my rough measurement it would be a tight fit.

it would look better if the middle bar was just straight across and didnt have the bulges on top and bottom for the bowtie since there is no bowtie....

So that's how you did a way better job of applying your decal!

For those that have SS on their Chevy bowtie emblems, have you debadged the SS from the side and rear?
