Still the one

After reading this post I did some quick research on the G35 which is now replaced by the G37. Anyway what I find interesting is the G35 produces 306hp and aprox. 266 ftlbs of torq. Our HHR SS with the GM upgrade produces 290 hp but 315 for torq. I have looked at alot of cars in various classes and ours not only has a high hp but the torq. is way up. You have to remember also that their engines are v-6's or more. We always talk about engines in litres these days, ours is a 2.0 but what many probably forget or don't realize is if you break it down to cubic inches, like what I grew up with ours blows all the others out of the water. Our little 2.0 is the equivilient to aproximately a 122 cubic inch engine, thats right, not a 350 or a 383 or a big block 454, a little 122 cubic inch that produces almost 3oohp. My Corvair is a 164 cubic inch six and only produce 95 hp. I have always said since I have had my HHR, so what if someone beats you, I am willing to bet their engine is substanitally larger, If I was them I wouldn't brag about that. Thats like Lance Armstrong bragging he beat a 10 year old in a bike race, but if the 10 year old beat Lance Armstrong, thats something to brag about.

I looked up the G35 on the internet when I got home and the post I read claimed 265 Hp. I wasn't so suprised that I beat him then.

A friend of mine has a G37 S and we drove onto the hiway, he following me. We both floored it and he maintained the same distance behind me. When we got to our location, he was very surprized at the power of the SS, saying that our cars were equal and he could not gain or pass me. I also have the GM turbo upgrade.
If you ever drive in a G37, the technology in these cars is amazing, but for the price and practicallity of the HHR, i'm happy it runs with sport coups. Another friend of mine has a Nissan altima coupe 3.5S and also couldn't believe its a 2.0l engine with that much power.

LOL...my nephew has the 35, it's an 05. Just a nicer 350z. From a dead stop we are even...from a roll I pull away. There is a you tube vid on the SS pulling away from a 350z a few times, the guy says....you just got beat by g-getter..how do you feel, the guy says like s**t...lol

I will say that I love the 350 but with only 2 doors and zero room...I love my SS more! :))

The G37 is a gorgeous car, and I really wanted to have one, until I looked at the sticker price. I'm glad I have my SS, which has been long paid off.
