In case it matters that much I forgot to mention 2 things in my OP.

1: my SS panel is an automatic.

2: while it does have more pep than the 2009 LS panel I traded it in for my SS it is by no means a night and day difference as far as power and speed going from my LS model to my SS model.

When I bought the SS panel I had it shipped and bought it with no test drive,,,, the only reason I was ok with doing that was because it came from a Certified Chevy dealer and with a Certified GM warranty.

The lack of power and the bad MPG makes me wonder how certified the dealership I bought it from went thru the SS to do the certification,,,, but then again that's GM's problem, not mine.

This is the only Turbo SS vehicle I have ever owned so forgive my lack of knowledge as far as my SS goes.

Any more ideas, suggestions on what could be wrong would be most welcome as I plan on going to my local GM dealer as soon as I have some more ideas on what the possible problem could be,,,,,, like I said before I don't want them to be able to BS me,,,, the more I know the less they can BS me when I go in there to have them do a full warranty repair on whatever the problem is.

Thanks again in advance
Cheers

After I was tuned with trifecta, this is what I accomplished. https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/lounge-10/downfall-25-psi-trifecta-tune-45047/

I pretty much beat the crap out of my car and got 17 mpgs....as mentioned above, something is off with your car. You should pull around 12-15psi stock if you punch it getting on the thruway(for example). And probably be anywhere between 23 and 28 mpgs combined with all the variables. 17 is a little too low if you ask me too

I would say try to time a 0-60 or a 0-100(if possible) and then all the SS guys can tell you if its close or not...FWIW 0-60 in a stock auto will be 6.5-7.0 seconds depending on the launch...

I have one of each, the 2.4 will get out of the way if it has to. The SS is a monster, need to get a grip before you give it some gas or it might jump off the road. I would head to the Dealer see what they find when they look it over.

Really the difference is large. After the GM upgrade on the automatic, have them install it for you.

Yes,,,, I'm guessing my best bet is to take it into the dealership and have them run a full diagnostics and go thru everything.

My SS is more of a *****cat than a monster.

One other thing you could try is to pull the ecu fuses #41 and #43 for about an hour and then reinstall. Some times this will help if the ecu has learned bad values with a batch of bad fuel or the like. It's worth a try....Good Luck!

I'm getting the same MPGs at about 17 to 18 MPG city but highway I get pretty good at about 33-34mpg. I have a GMTU, K&N intake, auto trans a muffler delete and wider tires 235/40/18.

I pretty much agree with Orig Post.

08' Auto, GMTU, TTR motor mount, Forge BPV.

I have excel'd every fill up since I bought mine 18 months ago, and hand calc out the mileage every time.

All city - 19.5-21 MPG
All highway - 34 MPG

Always run on zero ethanol Chevron 94 octane.

Reading about peoples increase with Trifecta, maybe I should do more data logging and actually start running my trifecta tune that I have had for like 8 months, lol
