GMTU lower map sensor location

Below are pictures of the orientation in which I installed my lower map sensor. The reasing for its location is because it won't fit the other way. The pipe is mounted pretty solid so I am not able to move it much at all. These are the best pics I could get. It looks like the wires are touching the shroud but the shroud has a 1 inch indentation right where the harness is and there's about one inch between the wires and the shroud. My question is, does mounting the sensors 180degrees from normal position affect the readings at all?? Also am I more vulnerable to hitting the sensors in this position because of the engine movement? Wut do u guys think?

Well "just in case" I fabricated new lower radiator mounts to give even more clearance. In doing so I also created more room in the engine bay. Works very well if I do say so myself. Here is how much clearance I have now...

Well, I think you win the award for the biggest pictures! Don't have a clue what I'm looking at though. Resize them please.

he is showing the lower T-Map that has been flipped 180* he then made some brackets(like I did) to move the radiator foward just a bit more.

NOTE: this will not work with a CS IC. HAHN and ZZP fit fine with this mod

Did you modify the upper mounts at all?

there are no real upper mounts. you can place a spacer behind the grommited opening to push it out some, but I found the radiator floats uptop nicely.

here is a pic from the underside showing plenty of room

the other pic shows the radiator brackets

Ok
looking to revive and old thread
I am in the middle of doing battle with my HHR ss
moved my ic forward and cut lower pipe to gain more room on my lower tmap
not really worth doing after pulling bumper etc
the lower charge pipe can only move so far forward before hitting fan shroud so in my opinion not really worth doing
this sensor needs to be turned 180 degrees and you guys above have done
can this be done with a stock charge pipe
if so do i need to pull radiator
and tips
