Does anybody know if Chevrolet is considering adding all wheel drive to the HHR or HHR SS in the future?

Possible with the Delta II platform that is supposed to be used on the next round. But I highly doubt it.

With the sale of Subaru (Fuji Heavy) to Toyota, I'd highly doubt it. Development costs are too high for the price point on that platform.

Hey misterjensen, good to hear from ya again. How's that Torrent GXP AWD doing?

Im pretty sure there won't be an AWD in the HHR's future. It's based on the Cobalt platform and being the economy cars they both are, I doubt seriously that AWD is in the future for either of these vehicles. Just wondering why do you ask? Are you dissatisfied with your Torrent?

Actually, the Torrent GXP is SO great, that my wife took the keys from me So... I lost my 2003 PT Cruiser GT on the trade, and now lost the new car to the wife. I'm stuck with a stripped down 2004 Chevrolet Malibu that has been nothing but problems. (We bought it after she totaled her last car.) Truth be told, I feel good about her driving it now since the weather has been TERRIBLE here in Wisconsin. I've gotta say, AWD is EVERYTHING it has been made out to be and MUCH MORE. I've gone to the other side, and won't ever come back. All of our cars from here on out will be AWD, considering the climate we live in. I obviously like the HHR SS, and would LOVE to get one if only it came with AWD. I too doubt it will ever have it.

nice. she wrecks the car and so then SHE gets to drive the new one. oh well, life happens!

you could always move to San Diego... that way you'd have great weather AND you could have an HHR SS!
[even though it poured today]

Look into the Pontiac Vibe Toyota Matrix AWD. Very similar in size and interior to the HHR. I had one, a FWD and hated the way the tires just spun as it did not have LSD. The AWD version is great though, real good.

misterjensen, we are going to look at a GXP AWD Sunday(put a deposit on before it even came in), wife drove a FWD one and loved it, said she wants one if AWD, I have to say that 262HP v-6 kicks serious ass
Plus towing and all the space, my favorite feature was the sliding and seatback tilting rear seats, incredible feature!

I like the appointments and the look myself, nav, sunroof, leather, and with $3500 in rebates and invoice pricing, I cant go wrong! $35,5k car for $29k
mmmmm

Carbon Flash is a nice color from what I hear, what color is yours?

so mrjensen, now that you've lived with the GXP for a while, can you tell us what you're observing for fuel economy?
