Has anyone covered 515 miles in one tank?? I have. According to the manual, if my tank is 16.2, then I had 2 gallons left in it. Sucks that 93 premium is $3.75 a gallon!

 

I haven't. That works out to just over 36 MPG so you must have been traveling on relatively flat roads, no head winds, and moving somewhere around 45 to 60 MPH.

 

I went from Cleveland to Cincinnati to Pittsburgh Over the weekend. That is relatively flat and cruise on 62 most of the way.

 

Very doable with the SS. I got 34.6 MPG on a trip to South Jersey and back. That was with 300 pounds of canvas in the back on the way down.

 

62 MPH? jeeeeeeeeez... ugh. I could never do that on a highway. I'd be afraid of causing problems for faster traffic. There's nothing worse than slow cars on a highway.. and its quite dangerous.. probably more dangerous than going 5 MPH above the speed limit.

 

62mph is slow?! What the hell is the speed limit in the states? thats about 105kph and most speed limits here in BC is 100 to 110 kph.

 

I would think that having a 300 pound canvas mainsail pushing you would not be considered playing fair in the gas mileage game.

 

Geeeeezzzzzzzz is the word.......it's about time people slow down.....It saves lives and improves gas mileage.....both important.........and at the price gas is now and it will be much higher in mid summer......lowering the speed limit.....55mph on most highways....and 60 mph on the interstates. It's happened before and can happen again.....My 2cents worth....ww

 

At 72 mph (technically speeding and 7mph over the posted limit) I probably would never get pulled over by any state'ez or local cops, but is it worth it to save 7-9 minutes per hour of driving. That would add up if I was crossing the country, but in a 4 hour drive? What's the hurry?

 

I'll take 515 miles on a tank (14 gallon fill up 2 left in the tank) over speeding anyday.
