HHR SS Passenger Seat Comfort.

Sometimes, when my wife is driving our SS, I ride shotgun with her. I find the passenger seat to be very comfortable, with a good sitting position and good legroom.

Recently, my wife took the SS on a trip to a conference in a city about 400 miles away from home. While she was there, she was talking to an older (70's) lady that she knows, and she asked if she could ride back with her because the car that she had ridden up there was very uncomfortable (an unnamed vehicle of Oriental origin). The older lady has a history of back problems, back surgery, pain sitting and sleeping, etc. My wife asked me on the phone my opinion - I reminded her that the SS had a Sport Suspension and rode very firmly.

Anyway, they decided that the SS would be fine, and the older lady came back with my wife. After she got seated in the front passenger seat, she began oohing and aahing about how comfortable the seat and the general sitting position was. They went over some pretty rough sections of road, but the lady's enthusiasm was undimmed. By the end of the trip, she was saying that she was in the market for a new car, and the HHR would be the first consideration on her list !

BTY, the average fuel mileage for this trip was 30.5 MPG on regular (87) gas. Our SS is an automatic.

I beleive the fuel to use on your HHR SS is 91 octane. I read this in another post.

You know RalphB, I have had a few people comment on the pass. seat as well. I car pool with 2 others and our commute is 1.5 hrs. each way. They both are very happy with the SS's ride and seats

One of the guys is 6'6" and he has to sit up front though! His head is right up there, but he allways insists he is quite comfortable! Now that summer is almost here I'm wondering if he'll want me to pop open the sunroof so he can stick his head out!

I bet if the sunroof wasn't there he'd have tons of head room. Since the sunroof is installed below the roofline. Which I like so the window doesn't stick over the roof.
