Hot Cabin

Am I the only one who notices that the cabin of the SS is abnormally hot when driving? I used to drive a black civic SI that wasn't nearlly as hot in the cabin despite the color. I feel a slight blast of warm air comming from the fire wall even with all the vents closed and the HAVC set to re-circulate. Maybe its just me. Is it just me or have others felt this?

One thing that pops into mind is that you may be missing the heat shield on the rear of the engine, if that's gone or damaged you'll be getting a bunch of heat from the turbo.

I notice none. The wifey's S4 makes more radiated heat, but if you want really bad heat intrusion try driving the one ton bucket truck with a 454 I have to at work. Oh yea, it doesn't have AC either.

My A/C keeps the SS like a meat locker, at least after the original heat is circulated out of the car. And I have the black seats.

Dear Passenger 57,

How are things going with your HHR? What year is your HHR? 843de, provided you with some great information, did you try that?

Passenger 57.....

You live in a temperate zone much like the Phoenix area, SO>>>>>

One of the issues I discovered in the HHR is that the dash reflects a lot of heat. GM Engineering requested my car for this complaint issue and after some study, stated it is within "normal" heat levels. They did suggest a dash cover would help. I purchased a cheap one at the local "thieves market" and it does substantially reduced the heat.

You might try this! Or if you have access to a thermo gun, check and see what your dash temps are, first. Note....you will especially notice the radiant heat after parking the vehicle in the sun without a windshield/sun screen.
