How do I know if I have the brake vacuum pump kit intalled????

I purchased a trifecta tune and got this question in an email???I bought the car used so I'm not sure if I would have it or not...

"Do you know if your HHR has the brake vacuum pump kit installed?

We'll need to know in order to write the tune. If you are not sure, you might be able to find out through your Chevrolet dealer."

I would love to answer you but I really can't make out your picture. What angle is that taken from?

I was laying underneath my car...my head under the engine, my waist under the front bumper....I couldn't get a good picture in the dark...

I googled a part number I found and it was the mounting bracket surrounding the pump thing circled in the picture. It said power brake boost from gm parts website

Post Vacuum pump kit

copied this from a "problems" board

" HHR SS TURBO Brake problem - MARCH 28, 2009

The problem is low vacuum in the brake booster at initial start-up when the engine is cold. Cold meaning has been sitting for 4 or more hours. It doesn't necessarily mean cold ambient temperature.

If you start the vehicle and the brake pedal is very hard when applying the condition is happening. After 30 seconds or so the brakes go back to normal because the vacuum is built up from the engine running. After that you would not experience it again until the vehicle has been sitting for an extended time.

The issue is addressed in TSB 09-05-22-001, which basically adds a vacuum pump into the system. "
;/'
appears that the kit was a fix for a problem that appeared after the vehicle (auto trans) was on the road, so if you bought the SS used, could be on there. use TSB 09-05-22-001 in the search box on here for additional info. wonder if this is what your trifecta tune is concerened about. hope this helps..

If that is mounted next to the oil pan, that's it. It should come on when cold started.

Thanks for the info.... I guess my question is, is the pump that I have pictured, definitely the pump that is from the service bulletin? Is there another pump there that gets replaced, or is it more of an accessory?

Thanks again for the info....I'm trying to get tuned this weekend!
