Looking to upgrade from LT to SS. Auto or Manual?

Love my HHR, thinking I would love it a whole lot more with turbo.

Not finding many around and all are auto. I was hoping for a manual.

The vette is auto and I actually prefer it to the manual.
My previous toy was a 5sp Turbo AWD Talon and those suck bad in auto.

Now when I test drove the 2.2 HHR's the auto felt much faster. Just felt gutless with a 5sp.

How does the SS compare auto to manual?

Looking at this copper SS over in Iowa:

08 17k miles $19,000

Get the Stage 1 and you'll be very happy with the auto. BTW, great color choice

nice ride my eyes were playing with me I thought you said looking at coper SS

mine is auto and I love it I added STG-1, TTr mount and sway bar heading for Trifecta tune after replacing a couple plastic parts and that will be good for my daily driver dont even want to think about traffic jambs and a clutch there is a LSD unit available but I dont think I'll need it.

get the stage and they will come close. also with the auto if you put it in low it will automatically keep upshifting. one of the tricks GM put in there to extend the powertrain warranty

Depends, I commute in mine. To be able to cruze to work with excellent MPG and spank wannabes on the weekend, auto is nice. However, not being able to keep it in it's torque band consistantly can be irritating. I'm very happy, until it thinks on its own...

According to GM order codes, of the 2600 or so SS's that were made in 2009, about 1100 were the 5 speed, slightly over 42%

Manual if you plan on modding for big power with a turbo swap or living on the edge with a super aggressive tune like the TF/HPT.

I looked around a 300 mile radius and only found a handful when I bought mine, there were only 2 that met my criteria at the time. One was a quarter panel that I really wanted, but the dealer would not work with my local dealer.
I was very picky though, it had to be a manual with LSD, Brembo's and no roof rack. (lots of auto's available when I bought mine)
