i had one tire that would lose air. i had to fill it every three weeks or the light would come on.
to my suprize the problem was still there after replacing the tires.
after a year i finally pulled the tire and stuck it under water and found it was a leaking valve stem. when i changed the valve stem there was no corrosion on the rim it was just a bad valve stem leaking between the rim and the stem.

I have an '06 here. The fancy alloy wheels do not like the salt that the state so lavishly applies to the roads here in the glorious free state of Illinois very much.
The bead at the rim of the tires is quite corroded. I spent a lot of my time last winter taking flat tires to Firestone to get them fixed. Finally I brought the car down when I had all 4 tires full of air and had them take them all off the rims and clean the bead up and put the tires back on with the bead sealant that Firestone approves of so I didn't void my tire warranty.
We shall see how long it lasts this winter.
There is a shop not to far away that claims they can recondition my wheels for a fraction of what new wheels would be so I may be finding out about that.

The tire guy I go to always cleans the inside bead of aluminum rims with a RolLoc, or something similar. He said that corrosion will cause slow leaks. My Blazer had rim leaks until Joe cleaned them up.
