Motorized front plate?

Has anyone done this to an SS? The only mount I can find is an Altec with a remote control. I want to fine one I can wire to either a switch in the car, or the parking brake.

Motorized front plate?

Am I going through Brain Drain? What is a Motorized front plate? Related to a muffler bearing?

Thanks! Now I get the idea. Kinda neat, especially in NYS where the front plate is required.

I believe one of the SS members from Texas has done it, but I can't remember which one.

I do know a lot of the Corvette owners in Texas (mandatory front plate law) have used the retractable plate. I also know that at least one has gotten a ticket for it and lost the case in court. The plate wasn't "securely fastened" and it was not "displayed" at the time of observation by the LEO (although the owner had the plate visible after being stopped).

I have it on mine and it works fine. If you want it to automatically to deploy you would have to do extra work. It could be done but you would have to finds some way to put a limiter or timed switch in or some other way to kill the power when it is down or full up.

THe way it is now you only connect a power and ground with the button being remote you can mount it anywhere.

I only put mine up in speed trap towns and for cruise in's to show people.

The Altec is a piece of cake to mount on the SS.

As for other options this is the only one I know of. The other plates all swing down and you just don't have anyway to mount them.
