Need info about 12v Outlet

SS Panels apparently have a 12v unit located in the rear, that allows hookup of devices running up to 40amps. Does anyone have one, and if yes, could you post a couple of pics. My dealer can't even find a parts number for one, and he alledges that without a parts number, he has neither the time nor the inclination to search HHR parts for it.

I would like photos, parts numbers, or diagrams on this outlet. Any and all help would be appreciated. I have the AA5 body on a 2009 LS.

it is in panels in general as far as i know. Supposed to be behind the access panel on the inside right of the hatch. I dug around in mine looking for awhile before i knew it was for panels.

My dealer had 4 panels on the lot, none of them had the hook up. He thought it was just for the SS models and he didn't have any at the time. I'm still looking.

You have to remove the access panel if I understand the manual. All panels are supposed to have it, it's listed on my windows sticker, I just never bother looking for it.

I bought one that plugs into the accessory outlet for $24.99 at Radio Shack. Powered my laptop while the kids watched movies for 14 hours (28 total both ways) last week.

neat, i wish mine came with one.

i have a 400w coleman brand power inverter i bought about 10 years ago and it works great. you can find them about anywhere but one built in the car would be the way to go.

I assumed it was a dealer installed option, only the wiring is present behind the access panel. Catdaddy, was yours from the factory?

i assume it is

but i don't really know since i got it used....but think i rember seeing it on the sticker....yep , i just checked....it is listed as standard equipment on my 08 panel lt.....it reads - rear 40 amp auxilliary power connector.....and looked at it again , it is about 5ins above the place where you can sit the storage shelf that normally is the rear floor....my panel was lt but made to be 2lt at the factory, it sounds wierd but thats what the sticker reads....but the power aux thing is listed under the standard equipment list.....i don't know if this helps , but panels are sometimes (or mabe alltime) listed as commercial vehicles by gm.
