Good choice for a replacement for that family car! I love mine, and I have the LSD option with a 5 spd. Have done some hard launches with Trac. contol off... No wheel hop at all, just lots of rubber left on the pavement!

but i'll bet not as much rubber as the formula.hehe

I took delivery at the end of March and commute 80 miles one way into Manhattan.I did get the automatic due to the time i spend in the city. After 28 years of that BS manuals are for kids and wide open roads.
The fastest Ive been in it was 115mph down interstate 80 west, when a guy in a jap car thought he had something. He was left in the dust be it car or nerve.
Ive had no problems with it so far.I bought a black one with the 6 disc CD player and the upgraded speakers. That stereo is the best Ive seen as a factory radio and is worth every cent it costs. The sub woofer really kicks.
I have yet to see anyone keep up with me on a highway helix and the car stays flat and steady no matter what ya do.You will be suprised at the corners this thing will run.It handles better than any Z-28 Ive owned(4).
I do use synthetic oil in it changed every 3000 miles with premium fuels.I also run at least 80 mph most times on the highway. You really need to watch the speed in this vehicle. The speedo is somewhat of a PAIN IN THE ARSE.80 looks like 60 on the dial and feels like 55 when driving it.It is extremely tough to judge your speed in this car.I also have the GM preformance seat and once it is adjusted properly, tough to beat.
Good Luck bud

I did a little launch for you today. It feels pretty strong all through first... while the tires are screeching. I would note a small feeling of tire hoping, but not enough to make me feel the car is anywhere near unstable during the launch.
