the box location is awesome since I dont lose any valuable storage space building it was a P.I.T.A. it took 4 days to get right since there are 42 different compound angle cuts to try to maximize airspace. If you have access to fiberglass I would strongly advise going that route instead. I has only the recomended airspace for one but still sounds real good after stuffing it with an entire bag of poly fill. Here are a couple of pics of the eyebrows, its just paint along the top of the headlight.

Sweet mods! Especially the intercooler...
The stock set-up stands out way too much IMO. Glad you guys are finding ways to work with it. Might be a stupid question but why is it white to begin with?

The plastic "floorboard" doesnt rattle any since it is held in pretty tight with those four rubber grommets that snap the lid into place. The intercooler is actually silver, just looks white in pictures. And thanks for the compliments guys!

I found one of these from a Chevy Parts house in KS on the fleabay yesterday and did a BIN at $72.xx + ship. I did some googling to find better dealis, but didn't find anything recent (I found some guy named Gene from Beans Chevrolet offering superb pricing in forums all over the place-- Pontiac, Corvette, LS/LT1 forums, etc... I called Fred Beans Parts, but Gene is no longer there... maybe because of this "superb pricing" ).

License frame just arrived. And true to GM form, I feel like I've been... uh... posteriorly violated. It's a well made part, paint matches, and has the classic "we'd better box this $2 part like it's worth a fortune so we can charge said fortune," but after the 3 seconds of jubilation that the brown truck brought me something, it's still a plastic license frame. Didn't come with mounting screws... those are probably another $40.00 in Genuine GM Parts. I think I'll pick up some stainless at the local hardware store for $1.99.

"Its a well made part and the paint matches"

Pretty well sums it up. No argument $80 is pricey for this part. I think being a Corvette option is where that comes from.

Of course you can get a made-in-china polished billet that weighs 2 lbs more for about $12.

My point really, is that $80 is pricey for what it is... I'm not rich, but I'm willing ot spend money, and will probably even get a front one if I ever get pulled over by Johnny Law about my missing front plate (actually, I don't have any plates yet... I just bought the car 2 weeks ago). So, rather than making it about a "being cheap" or "too rich for my blood," it's really about the inefficiencies and ridiculous markup on this part. It's plastic... period. It is simply not possible to cost this much with a "fair" markup and reasonable distribution costs. And to really drive the point home, List on this part (which is what my local dealer want to "order it for me" for) is just shy of $100!

I bought a couple of stainless tamper-resistent screws at Ace. I would have preferred pin-Torx or pin-Hex, but this was all they had in the "secure" type. They should look reasonably clean on my overpriced license frame... and may even protect it from being stolen (do people still steal license plates?)

Pic is just a sample I found online. The ones I got have a wider panhead like the stock galvanized phillips screws.
