An interesting note. We got this SS today. I looked up the repair/diagnostic/information on this display and guess what. There isn't any information that this little gadget even exists in GM's SI repair manuals. Good thing it seems to be operating okay because I don't know how it works yet. I can guess that the BCM is reading the ECM, sending the information through a data line to the gage and it probably has a logic board in it for displaying the data.

does anyone know the part # for the dash piece without the display in it, so i can custom fit my gps in it :)

also did it delete the analog boost gauge on the pillar???

Much better photos Chevy Mgr. I can see that the "pod" is molded into the trim ring (for lack of better description). My idea of mounting on top of door won't work.

The display and the trim around it fit right into the prior hole for the storage box. I'm betting you can't buy the trim only, such is the case with the A-Pillar gage, they will only offer the trim and the gage as one assembly.
