Wondering if returning the "stock" emblems to you would lower your costs (like a core charge). In other words, the first set would cost you $42, but then you would just get a returned set every time you recieved an order. That way, costs to your "customers" could be kept fairly low and based mainly on your labor and paint.
That's a good idea. I have thought about it. When I bought my car, I just bought new ones and then tossed my old ones. I guess I could charge a core charge and then refund when I get the old ones back. The only thing is once I get the old ones back and cleaned up and painted, I would have to then reinstall strong double-sided tape to reapply them. I have to look in to this idea a bit more. I dont always have a lot of free time so I have to be careful about how I committ myself.

Understood. Is the front held on with tape too...or bolted to the grille (never really looked that close )? You could have the customer remove the tape.

Risk here is that emblems that have been on cars may not be as pristine as you would want in order to paint.

They are taped on. I took mine off to paint new ones and the old ones can be quite messy....you need to have patience to clean them up real good.

Thanks...total garage queen. That's not a great photo but posted because simlar angle as the SS.

Edit: I see you have a TTA. Nice! If I could fit one in my garage (and budget!) I'd have one in a second. Had a GN for 9 years and loved it.

Guys, I want to do this. I'm just not sure about the cost. In complete honesty, for me getting the emblems and having them painted is going to cost me $65.00. That would be what it would cost me to buy them and have them painted in our shop by our painter. I'm not sure it would be worth it to some on here as I dont know what someone would pay for these. I guess you could look at it this way: If you went to a dealer and bought the emblems, you are going to pay $41.00 for front and $23.00 for the back. Thats $64.00 plus tax.....then you need to have them painted and that is going to cost whatever it will cost. Mine will be a set of GM emblems already painted factory color.......all you need to do is slap them on. I suppose I could charge a core charge of say....$10.00?? for you to send me your old ones and once I get them, I refund it back to you? Then instead of me buying new ones all the time, I can clean up the old ones and use those. I dunno.....what do you think? I guess I can ask this? How much will you spend to have something like this? Be honest.

65 for quality bows would be in my price range.

Another idea might be to get a group of guys who want a certain color and wait to paint all at once. would that help your paint costs?
