Replacing my HHR

Replacing my HHR
I've finally grown tired of the discomfort, and safety issues on my beloved SS. I'm only 6'2", but long waisted, and I also have had spinal surgery on my neck. The result is ducking down low enough to see out of my windshield, without being able to bend my neck very well. I just about hit a pedestrian yesterday because the windshield mounted rearview mirror completely blocked my view of him. Honestly, if I were able to normally move my neck,it'd still be a problem. I've never been able to see overhead traffic lights, or direction signs, and the views out the sides/rear aren't much better. I really love driving my SS, and it's great for work as an in town delivery car. The crappy 4-spd. A/T is an annoyance, but this much performance, and still great mileage,is a hard combo to beat. Do you forum members have any suggestions (be nice) of replacement vehicles for me to look at, that have the same utility, but are still fun to drive? One other problem is the horrid resale value for trading the car in. A beautiful car with only 24k miles, and it's worth half of what it was two years ago. I've thought of a few cars to try, and this time I'll be more careful to consider some issues that I ingnored when I bought my red rocket. Thanks for your suggestions in advance.

And it sounds like no one showed you how to move the mirror so it's not in the middle of the windshield.
Maybe ask to have it for a weekend or possibly rent a model that you would seriously consider.

Like he said there are many good cars. It is not up to us as you are paying the bill.
Go to the dealer and most will let you drive the car for a couple hours and some have been known to let you take them home. Also might rent a car you like for a day or two.
I have not been in one yet but the new Regal has a 2.0 Turbo 6 speed coming in a couple months. It should fit most people. 6.2 is not all that tall. I am at 6' and the HHR would start to get cramped if I were a little taller.
Be smart buy smart. Learn and read all you can on a car and drvie it well before you sign the papers. Too many people end up with cars they should have not bought or too often paid way too much because they did not do the needed home work.

Sorry to hear about your neck problems and having to get rid of the SS Zeevette! And hope the pedestrian was OK.
Good luck finding a new vehicle! Have fun with it!
p.s. I was just in Kennewick a couple weeks ago in my black SS... did you see me??

Whatever you do I hope it works out for you and your injuries/surgeries heal.

If you like the car that much check into a racing seat , That can be mounted much lower. Just a thought. The mirror thing, Take it and push it up to the roof, Then bend just the mirror into a good position . (Not the shaft that holds it) I can get my mirror flush with the roof, Which makes a big differance.
