I even had 40k more of extended warranty but it doesn't help if there are no parts and service that is not able to root cause correctly. It's been over a month waiting for a wastegate solenoid which wasn't the problem. All this time it was dealer OK'ed to drive in limp mode.
That's really sad. Talk about depreciation! I'm really waffling right now, trying to find a way to keep the car, with so many faults that I consider unacceptable. Honestly, there's not alot of cars that can do all the things an HHR SS does, especially the "fun factor". You know, Mr. Redface, that dealer's gonna sell your car for 16-18k, and it'll be a bargain for somebody. I'm not cheap, but the system really screws the consumer. Just this morning I had a run-in with some overpaid Hanford worker in one of those new kit-car looking Lotus'. He came at me hard going into a ultra long 270* on-ramp, and I left him sucking my exhaust. I could see him try to keep up, but about mid-curve I just motored away from him. I'd really like to get his honest reaction to being blown away by an HHR. From the late-model Lotus owners I've talked to at car shows, I get the impression that they severely over-estimate their car's performance. One gentleman even thought his Lotus could out-accelerate my C5Z06.

It's really is too bad, I admit I put miles on the car quick. But I just can be at the dealer so much. If I could have just kept it in the garage for a super fun weekend car it would have been great - Daily driver not. I already miss the speed and handling. It was alway fun closing out expensive BMW's or people who were thinking they had an expensive performance car. But the car just didn't keep running right. It really is a shame that you try to stay America and with the right car that is amazing but the fear of being left out to dry forces you to jump ship. My son was in the new car this morning wanting the old car back.

As for someone getting a bargain, the car was not 100%. I only tweeked the connector on the stage kit to run. Soldering them was not done so it will act up again and they will have to go the dealer route - good luck. The trading process was extremely tough too. Most dealers were starting at 9k I have to leave places and work hard to get to 11,800 (most stopped at 11k). The stage kit added nothing along with and othe mods.

That's the thing about mod money. It's basically for your own enjoyment, and virtually worthless to a dealer. Private seller can be a slight benefit, and in some cases, a detriment. The dealer stays in business by making a profit, so you can't really blame them for screwing you; it's just business. I want to keep this car, so I'm gonna make an effort to fix the biggest problem, by lowering the seat. I just need to find a way to make it reversible, because I won't keep it forever.

Every car I've modded I've always kept the stock parts, just in case it ever needs to go back to stock.

I wish I could say the same. I sold the original heads, and catback for my '02 Z06. Wheels, too. I've learned my lesson, I hope.

Keep your HHR and go to the pool, I have more bad disk in my back and neck, Last december I was in so much pain I could not step down or up even 4 inchs with out
my back going completly out. I went to 2 weeks of heated pool therapy then I quit and just went to the pool and did the exersises on my own. we this week I have been helping out in the file room the have over 1000 boxes 40lbs a piece, to get the file room
in some sort of order on the shelfs each box was inventoried which means each box was moved twice then picked up and carried alt least twice after that. So I have moved over 40,000 lbs of boxes many times if it wasnt for the pool I would be in the ER.
keep your HHR and if your worried about running someone over just have good insurance LOL.

Oh, so what are you getting?
Tough deal about the SS, it was a great idea in concept, but how can you build the most technological advanced 4 cylinder engine (DI turbo 4 cyl) in the history of your company (GM) and not make sure its bullet proof, along with the platform its going in. Doing stuff half ass makes no sense to me.

im getting back into the Honda game. Im picking up a 94 coupe and putting a B18C5 into it or a K20. It will be as fast if not faster then the HHR when im done. And for less money too haha
