Once my OnStar subscription runs out, I'm looking at replacing my stock rear view mirror with one of those smaller (and cooler) chrome ones.

I realize that the OnStar functionality will be gone (no problem) but my question here is will that screw up my bluetooth as well? I'm not sure if the stock mirror has anything to do with the bluetooth function or if it is opearated completely through the sound system.

Any help out there would be appreciated.

I believe you will lose bluetooth also. You could always just unplug the mirror and see if the bluetooth still works.

I do believe you would lose Bluetooth as well. To me at least, it appears as if OnStar functionality is the motherboard (computer) that connects via Bluetooth. I certainly don't think it's the stock stereo head unit, the connections are all associated with the rear view far as I can tell. I could be completely off though.

FWIW I have pulled the fuse on my OnStar to disable it, and I have also lost the bluetooth functionality.
