Speedo cluster lens

Anyone have a part number and/or source of a speedo cluster lens for an SS? Mine has cloudy spots and it's annoying at times. How hard would one be to replace and is a separate item from the cluster itself?

GM parts center shows part #20845839 for 2009-2011 but nothing for 2006-2008. Didn't know there was a difference but it looks like there is.

Dang, that's not good news. I contacted the GM parts center and asked about it...I'll post back when/if I hear anything.

All the SS's have the same 140 mph speedo. I would think the lense part would be the same 08-10.
Most likely it's just an incorrect(incomplete) year listing by the seller. See that a lot on the internet.

I recently broke my lens on my panel, from what i understand the lens is the same on all the clusters ,ss or not. I found lots on ebay...bought one for a total of $55 shipped to me in vancouver area. Will just swap it onto my cluster after a good polishing. Beats $300. from chevy!

If the lenses are all the same, the lens alone is only $8.60 from the GM parts link. I can find a ton of clusters in the $35-$60 range but I don't need the whole cluster and the lenses don't look that good.

Does Chilton's or the Haynes manual have any info on changing one? Probably get both manuals for XMAS but just curious if anyone has one of the two and would know.

Don't think you need a manual.
Should be as easy as remove the trim piece to reveal the cluster. If the lense is secured by screws, should be an easy swap out.
I've never done one on a HHR but have pulled some on various other cars.
Only caution advice is to disconnect the battery first.

Someone who has swapped out instrument faceplates( SSfan ?) should be able to confirm how simple it is.

And people wonder why being able to write is a good thing to learn.

Here's GM's response.

Q: Trying to find the clear instrument cluster lens for my 2008 HHR SS

A: You cannot but the cluster lens seperate from the cluster.

What the heck does that mean?

I'm pretty sure that you will still need the dealer to program the "new" one. I could be wrong, but digital things usually do..
