Stage 1 in Las Vegas

I have read many many threads on this site about the stage 1 upgrade and I want to upgrade my car now. I am located in Las Vegas and wondering if anyone around Vegas has had this kit installed yet? I called the dealer in Henderson and the service adviser told me it would take at least 4 hours to install and the labor rate is $99 an hour. This seems a little crazy to me. I then asked if I could do the wiring myself and just have them re map the computer and he said they would not touch it unless they did the whole job. Needless to say I need a place to get this done and I am wondering who in the Las Vegas area will install this and how much will it cost?

Thanks for any info..

try a different dealer. i was quoted $100 at one place and $180 at another for the complete install, based on 1 to 2 hours @ $89 an hour.

I had one dealer refuse to touch the upgrade.

the kit calls for 1.2 hours from everything i have read, but since it is not in the book they like to charge actual time.

but maybe if they can look up changing the tmap sensors and reflashing the ECU, it may come out to the 1.2 hours

P.S I just bought a new stage kit off ebay for $385 and $9 shipping. So look around for the kit.

4 hours to reset a computer does sound a little crazy to me too.
What a greedy gut that dealer is. That's how some of them get the name stealership.

Four hours is silly. Downright silly. You should report them to GM and the newspaper for fraud. That's sickening.

can the calibration be downloaded by someone, while the tech is swapping out the sensors?

i'll pass it on, before they do the install.

also should they upgrade to t-clamps? as there are several instances of clamps blowing off due to increased boost

If they have more than one tech working on the car the cal could be being downloaded by someone else while the parts are being installed

I would make sure the clamps are tight. If you want to upgrade it would be a good time to do it. It is not necessary to upgrade the clamps. Just make sure they are tight.

their vette tech did the install, and i dont think he even removed anything, took 2 hours everything is fine, he was saying they should have designed the lower sensor like the old one because it is very close to the a/c unit.

then again vette techs are used to working in cramped spots

I mentioned how I heard some people are having connector problems, and he said that their install tech is probably using the wrong crimp tool.

so we didn't upgrade the clamps anyways, he said no problems there
