Well moon I hate to bust your bubble but I'm part of that younger crowd that you talk about and can pick holes in your statement. I have seen two cars of nowhere close to the same power, one fwd and one awd. AWD being an evo and the fwd being a civic hatch. Evo had alot more power but the civic ran it down by the finish line for the win. There is alot more to it than just the drivetrain. And actually if the evo is rated at 300 hp and the SS has 310hp they have simular hp rating. But to the wheels is where is matters. Fwd will put more to the ground than an Awd of the same hp rating. Awd will win the 60' but can easily be ran down by Fwd with a simular hp rating. Weight, gears, powerbands, so much more, are all factors in the race at the track. Saying AWD will always prevail in the qm is false.

But back to the original post, a modded SS can beat the 2010 Sti in the qm at the track. Especially if its two people who are decent drivers. There are posts on here of low 13's at the track with not much done. Sti is at mid-low 13's stock from what I have seen. Further more, a Wrx would take less mods to beat and is in more comparison to a SS at the track. Harley, the only thing riced is that civic that beat that evo at U.S. 13 drag strip. lol.

As I stated, the Talon was heavly modded[by Archer Bros. Racing] and by their claim, put out 375 H.P. at the wheels. I ran the car at the drag strip many time over the years I had it, and it ran low twelves and a few high elevens on a regular basis[as many here in Nor-cal will atest to].
I'm not one to try and blow smoke up anyones rear end, only stating the facts.
I'm not some young guy with limited experience, and have spent over forty years, both in and around drag cars, sprint cars, and bikes. I have a lot of wheel time, and know a little about what I say, from many years experience.
Whether anyone chooses to believe it or not is up to them, and does'nt bother me, with statementst of "whatever". I consider the source[man, could I go there!].
I also have to state that by a lot of the posts on here, from the younger crowd, that they get their jollies off by street racing, and not by going to the drag strip, where they can see just how good they are on the lights, and just how fast their cars really are on the scoreboard. Ain't no "Dig" or "Roll" there, it's man against man, put up or shut up.
Now, in closing, anyone has any more questions, feel free to PM me, and I'll give them my phone number, and we can talk. "Moon"
i race my bike at the track, not my hhr. i have raced at the track in cars too. you can't honestly say you never play on the street, when safe to see what the other guy has. the point of this is awd DOESN'T WIN ALL THE TIME!!! i'm not a fan of honda's,but these all motor civics are pulling really low 60ft' times...some better than awd. so explain that to me...wonderful rally cars, good for the 60'ft,and IF built right and a crap load of money they can be fast mid track to the traps. i know of a evo where i live, i can't touch or run down. why??? it's fully built with a gt35r with a small shot of nitrous. stock or bolt on wrx,sti can lose a race to a heavily modded lnf fwd car STREET OR TRACK...there are these things call drag radials etc...some are running 12's now and still in the 300-350p range.

trust me,no one is butt hurt over your post.

I guess I really did'nt mean the AWD would prevail, each and every time. There are times when it would and times it would not. depends on reaction times, driver and the car.among other things.
I did'nt mean to get into a pissing contest with anyone, but be fore warned, I have a pretty good stream[on a good day]. I was just stating facts[about the Talon], that some people questioned with a smart a** answer, and I guess I did take offense[ and yeah. I can do that].
Seems some of the people on here, like to science the crap out of things, and muddy up the water, to fairly simple answers. I'm not the sharpest bear in the woods, by any strech, but I have been around the block a few times, been there, done that, and learned a lot[I hope].
I'm not on here to try and impress anyone with my posts, and only post stuff about my stuff that I know for sure. Some of the other stuff I post, is up for debate[without smart a** answers].
I have been know to "Stir the pot" to get a reaction, and that will surely continue[all in jest of course].

P.S. I want to see time slips, not lip service.

Hey, all in good fun. Hell you guys are wearing this old man out. Think I'll refrain from any further comment, until such time I deem necessary and productive[read: I'll have to sit down and think a little harder before I open my mouth].
Besides, my dentures are loosening up, and I'm running out of Poligrip[read: looseing traction, big time].
P.S. why does my butt hurt? "Moon"

I wasn't trying to be a smart a** either moon. Just simply stating some of the facts that I know from my experience. False info is bad info so its best to learn and gather info from others. Hell that's why I joined this forum because there is a lot of good info on here based around our cars. I try to be accurate with what I post which is why I went to several different creditable sites who test cars to get what the sti ran qm and mixed that with info I already knew and observed. Its not that I science everything but there is a lot of science involved with cars and racing so I find it best to look at the numbers. :)
p.s. sorry for bashing the eagle talon. I was just trying to get a point across.
