I'm going to hold off on snows for this season but will be putting them on next. I have had a Jeep Grand Cherokee for many many years, it will be different getting around in the SS but I'll trade a little 4wd security for all the fun I'll have on the non-snowy days and summer/spring/fall months. I can't wait to take it out on the open road for a long trip. One of the the things I love about the SS is that it's not a well known speedster, so I look at it as a sleeper. I can't wait to surprise the younger rice burners this summer. Yea I'm 50 but still a motor head and kid at heart. Thanks for the info. on the snows.

stage 1 kit w/auto

Has anyone put the GM stage 1 kit in their SS that has an automatic, if so was it reasonably simple and did you notice a difference. I'm only interested in those who did it with an auto, (since that's what I will be getting.) Also, can you use it as a daily driver with the GM stage 1 kit. Thanks

I have an auto 2008 SS but no stage kit. I drove a friends (a76marine) auto SS with stage kit and whoa man Big difference He drives as his daily ride. Only difference is with the upgrade you have to use Premium Fuel.

I've experienced the "sleeper" thing first hand on business road trips...

Wait until you see the look on the faces of the Acura and Audi owners (in the rr mirror) when you leave them in the dust out of toll booths. They look smug entering them, then look stupid leaving (being smoked by a little "bread van").

Many guys with auto trans (myself included) have had the stage one installed and I think these are the guys that get the most benefit as crank hp goes from 235 to 290 + or -. The biggest issue you will be facing is selection of dealer to do the upgrade, therein lies the rub. Daily driver? Hell yes!

The quickest DSM (2.0L Eclipse/Talon) in New England did 8.9 in the 1/4 mile at 156 MPH.

World's quickest Brent Rau ran 6.83@199mph last year.

Not too shabby for 2 liters
