Thank You Mrs. On My Cell While Driving - SS Damage

Some of you may remember my first SS identical to this was was hammered by a hail storm. Ordered my new on and took delivery 2 months ago. Then on Aug. 4 this happened. Young girl on the cell in the rain during Atlanta rush hour She was driving a Kia SUV that left on a wrecker leaving antifreeze and oil behind SS drove just fine.

Picked it up yesterday and the repairs are top notch. Now time to fight for my dimished value from her insurance (offered $600...LOL, with 2500 miles on the car)

Ouch... sorry to hear about that...

$600 worth of damage? Looks like more than that to me...

Was the estimate based on a dent puller and touchup paint?

$600 dollars will hardly cover the cost to repaint let alone new tailgate and bumper.

Diminished value ≠ damage or repair cost.

Man that sucks. Hope she got a nice fine too. Glad they were able to get it looking good again.

I'm puzzled though, was there any structural damage? If not, how is the value diminished? Or do you mean the lowball offer being too short to cover the actual costs of repair? If so, and her insurance doesn't cover it, take her to small claims court. In my state, if someone doesn't pay for accident damages, it can haunt their driving record for a long a time.

Her insurance paid the full repair cost $3400+, but dimished value is paid in GA since now it has a Carfax history and when I go to sell, the buyer can see that and it isn't worth as much as one without an accident history. Some states have DV payout, some don't. On my last SS that was damaged by the hail, I got a significant DV check.

The $600 thing is confusing me too. Earlier this year a high school girl entered the left hand turn lane and ran into the front of my car while I was sitting still waiting for the light to change. Her dad wanted to pay out of pocket for the repairs and said that it didn't look like more than $800 in damage. I went home and immediately called their insurance company and filed a claim. Her insurance paid for all the repairs and the rental car to the tune of $2800. There was no money at all out of my pocket and no waiting for reimbursement.
