thoughts on a huge texas/national meet

how many would be interested in a texas meet??? you know in texas we like to do things big. i think my part of the state will be best why??? not to interupt the other national meet. don't mean to step on toes here.

google or search the following activties:

kemah boardwalk-this place loves to put on car shows for clubs. corvettes do alot of these here.

galveston island, galveston tx- lots to see and do with PLENTY of hotels

hitch**** blimp base- road race course.

roughly 50 miles from houston alot of good shops willing to put on a dyno day at a good price. 30miles from houston raceway park. around 20 miles from johnson space center.(the center of the rally/meet would be galveston)

what ya think??? looking at a march of 09 date(spring break???)

I like the idea, but what about something farther west, like NE,CO,UT,NM areas?

Farther north in the summer, too hot for july or august. Besides there was 3 meets in three weeks this year, Why another down south or in that time frame?

COOL IDEA...

Why not....

The HHR community needs more enthusiasm for this car!

I think there needs to be more national / regional meets. If anything, the HHR community needs to get more recognition and maybe the events will start growing.

Whatever you decide, I would suggest respecting the time frames of other large regional / national events. Too many during the same time of the year will only hurt attendance on both events. At least a month seperation between events would be good but seasonal would even be better.

Spring time would be nice in Texas...

I agree with Big Kahuna!!! Plan it and they will come You might not get the turn out you expect the first year but who cares. The point is to have fun. I wouldn't be able to make it but the Galveston Island area was awesome the last time I was down there.

I'm sure we could make it if I could have a few months notice.

Thought: See if the SSR guys would want to combine with the HHR group for a Texas Retro Meet. It would up the car count and I think it would be cool to have both retro lines from Chevy represented.
