Update on my daughter's manual trans driving lessons

Well, it was a nice day yesterday and I got my old Suzuki Samurai out of the barn and gave it a spring cleaning.

My daughter was still bugging me that she wanted to learn to drive a manual trans, so we brought the "Zuki" and her down to the Hudson River waterfront to "eat some clutch".

After only about 45 minutes, the bucking stopped and she was already getting into 2nd gear. This kid took to it pretty quick and there was no arguing.

A good day for a dad... (you can see the smile of accomplishment in the driver's seat)

Tried to get my 12 year old to go and learn to drive a manual in my SS but he is afraid to hurt my SS. He know how much I love it.

Its probably a lot easier to learn how to drive an automatic. Driving a stick can be tricky at first.

I learned on a 1972 VW Beatle. I missed 3rd gear and put it back into 1st gear, let out the clutch and nearly put my father through the windshield.

But once you learn how to drive a crappy stick in the hills of NY state, you can just about drive anything and anywhere.
