that about sums it up for me too!

I cant wait to get one, seems like it's all ive been dreaming about since the first spy photos confirmed GM was gonna make it.

Since I'll prolly be getting the manual, one of the issues seems to be a short first gear, ya gotta shift quickly esp. if ur gettin' on it!

Good point, I've already had the fuel shutdown in 1st gear twice. Need to get into 2nd FAST!

Itching to try no-lift shift!

I dont like the fact my knee rides against the dash. I dont like the fact that the headliner rattles near the onstar microphone. The "ground effects" seem to be really attached crapily and the finish of that door plastic is not good... look around the door lock knob for an example of what I mean. Something else that also annoys me is the car is kinda loud .. which would be good if it was a pleasant sound. Im just so glad it doesnt sound like a ricer 4cyl with one of those 1' mufflers. I wouldnt have bought it if it sounded like that. I can tell you though... driving it hard puts a smile on my face that makes me forget all about those problems.

Headroom with sunroof

The design of th headliner with the sunroof is terrible, it drops too far and cuts the headroom down. It could have been more of a smooth transition and would not have cut down the headroom as much. Everything else is great so far.

I just sat in an HHR SS the other day and I couldn't agree more! I thought that I was just sitting higher in the seat because the car was frozen solid; now I know I'm not the only one. I'm 6'0", and my head / hair was grazing the headliner of an HHR SS with a sunroof. I'm going to be taking one for a test drive in the next few days, so I'm going to really be sure to make sure I have the seat right where I like it. Does anybody know if the performance seat or the regular seat sits lower?

I never noticed sitting higher in the regular HHR with a sunroof...

Make sure you lower the seat. It goes up and down as well as back and forth on the SS. I have the sunroof and also 6', headroom is no issue at all...

I checked it; it was down as far as it could go. I'll play with the seat a bit more when I take one for a test drive.

Hah; just read this in the Autoblog review: "...even though it's a high-roof, this tester's hair brushed the ceiling on sunroof-equipped models."

Yes, that is why I passed on the sunroof, can't stand my hair grazing the roof. It was the same thing on the 87 Grand National, I went with the t-tops instead. It effects the back seat, as it is a sliding roof and has to drop down and slide back. Thats what takes so much room, it has to drop down. Maybe a better choice on the HHR would a tip up sunroof, removable, with a pull shade.
