Who hasn't brought their SS back to the dealer yet?

When i got the car there was a swirl or spiderweb in the paint on the bumper and the mirror had a scratch on in. After a trip back for those issues it has been perfect. I did take it in for an oil change but, after seeing the $76 bill i have decided to do it myself.

well mine just went to the dealership for the last time. it was only it's second time, too. first time was an oil change, this time was to get my Stage 1 kit installed. now that they've charged me $400 F***ING DOLLARS to install it, they'll never see me again!!!

anyone know of a way to register a complaint with GM about a specific dealership? when GM themselves say something should take an hour to install, and it takes the incompetent fools at a dealership 4 HOURS...SOMETHING needs to happen!!

Ouch, $400 is a lot. Amazing that crimping 7 wires, swapping 2 sensors and doing a reflash is causing so much aggravation.

Back on topic:
I've been back to the dealer once for a defect in the Driver's Rear Door molding/weatherstrip that encapsulates the small stationary glass piece. Also, several visits for a slow leak in the passenger side rear tire... they're really having a hard time fixing this one though - still leaking. Other than this, mine has been pretty trouble-free so far... have about 4000 miles.

I do seem to have the "squeaky bed spring" noises that a few others have mentioned. On mine, this only happens in really cold conditions... especially when just starting out.

20k had it since June. First trip to dealer was last week to get the Stage 1 kit installed, oil change, fix my noisy hinges on the rear hatch, my rear wiper works only half the time, and some body repair after my wife backed over a curb. Going back tomorrow to get this Turbo cut-out issue resolved. Check engine light came on this time and has remained on so hopefully they can pull something up and I can get it back before the end of the week.

And you didn't have to get it installed there. You could have gotten quotes from other dealerships. Just because GM says what it "should" cost, doesn't mean that's what they have to charge. It was probably the techs first time doing a kit, so he was learning as he went.

5000 miles since July, changed oil myself, no problems = no dealer.

Which is more than I can say for my last 3 new cars: 05 GTO, 03 Evolution VIII and 01 Celica GTS.

My wife's 05 Mitsubushi Montero Limited has 95k and has never been back to the dealer. Just fluid changes and brake pads, done in our garage.

fair enough, but still. i called all the dealerships within about 1 1/2 hours of me, and no one wanted to commit on a price or number of hours for the job. i don't have the time available to go a few hours away and give up my car for a few hours to have it installed, i work too much for that, so my only choice was one of 3 local dealerships, none of which wanted to work with me. i can understand the tech just learning, but i've read on here about several dealerships, their first time installing only taking 2-2.5 hours. even one of the first dealerships to install one only took 2.5 hours of actual work time, and that was along with another 2.5 hours of phone time trying to find out what was wrong (before the service bulletins about the difference in wiring and the sensor clearancing). i printed out copies of all the bulletins to go along with the instructions and gave all of it to them, so they had all the info, and it still took 4 hours, even with all the info right in front of them.

9000 miles and my SS is at the shop every day (I'm a tech). One electrical issue that the factory didn't install a power wire for the BCM. Othere than that and a stage kit, it's all good. Also wanted to thank jerssey for starting a positive thread about the cars that we probably still owe moneys on and like to haul ass in. THANKS.

10,100 miles 10 months and have not taken her back yet but will in a few days. I have one TPMS sensor that quits sending data when the temp goes below 20 degrees.

Yeah - that was the idea - to get some positive posts on the SS. I'm loving this car every day despite minor issues. I'm particularly bummed today since I have to deliver a whole bunch of plans and had to take the Avalanche to work, so no SS today. My wife will be taking it the SS to go grocery shopping - she better not come back with any cart damage.
