Makes me think back to the N/L body glory Days. TMK over 65% of beretta GTZ's were white, even though there were 4 other colors available. TMK over 55% of acheiva SCX's were white, and over 40% of beretta Z26's were white.

White is the most common exterior color for quad 4 HO powered vehicles, and most common for w41 quad 4 vehicles.

I realize many of you may not consider these sporty cars, but there weren't many other FWD early 90's cars that could hang w/ them.

Those "performance" beretta's were a joke performance wise. Standard 1.6 civic's would blow them away.

BTW, most of them I saw were either black or dark blue.

They were an attempt to go against the SHO and a few others. It was a bad attempt. I had a co-worker with a 94 or 95 V6 model. I think the 0-60 times were like 9.6 or something.

well, first of all the GTZ was 90-93, so there was NO 94-96 version (it was a z26 after this)

It's funny you say a 1.6 civic would beat them being the only ones to ever out do them were the 1999 Civic Si, and the del sol vtec, (up to 1999 at least)

1991 Chevrolet Beretta GTZ 0-60 7.7 1/4 16.1 (I cannot find numbers for the 92-93 cars, which received a 3.94 FDR instead of the lame 3.61 FDR, and were usually about 3 tenths quicker.)

another Q4 HO vehicle, from 1990, that actually looks to outperform every civic on that list save for the 99 Si

1990 Pontiac Grand Am Quad 4 7.3 15.8

here is a list of honda civics from 1987-1999 as I said only 2 beat it. which anyways, civics were the size of cavaliers, berettas are the size of an accord of that era.

1987 Honda Civic Hatchback 13.6 19.3
1991 Honda Civic EX Sedan 9.7 17.2
1992 Honda Civic EX Sedan 9.4 17.0
1992 Honda Civic Si 8.5 16.4
1992 Honda Civic Si Hatchback 8.4 16.5
1993 Honda Civic Coupe EX 8.4 16.5
1993 Honda Civic del Sol Si 8.8 16.8
1994 Honda Civic del Sol VTEC 7.4 15.8
1994 Honda Civic EX Sedan 8.8 16.8
1995 Honda Civic EX 8.8 16.8
1996 Honda Civic Coupe HX 9.4 17.1
1996 Honda Civic EX Sedan 10.5 17.6
1996 Honda Civic LX Sedan 9.4 17.2
1998 Honda Civic GX (CNG.) 11.9 18.1
1999 Honda Civic Si 7.2 15.7

I have a feeling the auto HHR SS will be just a tick faster then the GA.

I suggest you don't bash a car without knowing about it. There is a reason motor trend called the beretta GTZ "a BMW M3 w/ a 20k rebate"

Now that's funny right there. But then again, MT was good at jokes with their reports.

Stock 94 model,
1/4 Mile ET: 16.460
1/4 Mile MPH: 84.080
1/8 Mile ET: 10.630
1/8 Mile MPH: 66.810
Actual, not MT numbers.

This was with a good driver,

Same car after we "played" with it some. Few mods.
1/4 Mile ET: 15.200
1/4 Mile MPH: 91.200
1/8 Mile ET: 9.900
1/8 Mile MPH: 72.800

I will give them that for their day, I guess they were performance. But boy that is giving up a lot. The cars were plagued with issues. Every why you hardly ever see one anymore?

I have one sitting in my driveway that I am quite proud of, It is broken, but it served me well for years. There wasn't a day in its life (under my ownership) that it didn't hit 7k+ rpm and it is 100% my fault that it broke (4th to 3rd @ 120mph).

it went a best of 15.813 @ 98.53 for me w/ 120k on the clock dead stock, even a dirty ac/delco air filter in it.
