Window buttons
#11
I just saw on the news the other day where a small child was in the car and stood up on the door arm rest looking out the window. The childs foot landed on the window button and the window went up killing the child. Be careful!

I have gotten use to them where they are and like them there. I can put the back windows up and down for the dog and don't have to bother the driver. Had to be careful with the door locks and window buttons on the back doors of my Lincoln. The Dog locked me out several times and just about killed himself in the window.... No one has ever been in the back seat of the HHR but the dog......LOL

To all of you who want the window switches on the doors, how many motors have you had to replace due to rain shorting them out. I've had two that were fortunately covered under the warranty. They're not cheap and I'll take the inconvenience of where the switches are now over having to replace the motor repeatedly.

This was another mod I was thinking of doing: Getting the SS window button set-up, and putting it in my HHR. I don't like the placement of the window buttons now, and even though I've had my car for almost a year now, I still reach for the door to roll the window down.
So I am going to find a way to get those window buttons in my car...

and the halo light from above also.. I'm not ready to go into the light...

If the switches short out, the motor can also be damaged. Either way, it's and expensive repair. Some cars used to have the switches placed vertical on the door panels. Why don't they do that anymore?

I've never had to replace a window motor in 25 years of driving, and this is the first car I've owned with switches that are not on the door. I'd prefer them to be on the door, where they belong. MUCH easier to put both windows up at the same time. LS

How difficult is it to use your thumb and finger to raise/lower the front windows at the same time?
I'm working on a method of getting all four of the windows up at the same time. So far I'm up to three while the sunroof is closing at the same time.
