Wow, some dealers are giving away the SS now to clear them out.

The dealer discounted my SS $6500 before we even started 'grinding' or talking trade etc. Priced like that, I would have gone SS 2 years back...
My car had been a show car at the Boston Auto show this spring, so maybe they just wanted to move it. Although, I have seen similar savings on SSs at other New England dealers...

Hmmm I guess you have not heard what people so in some show cars?
I can tell you a few stories that would scare you about some of the Chevys fromt he NY international car show.
All I am going to say is I wonder if they ever got the smell out.

A friend of mine is incharge of many of the show cars for the GM show displays.
He said the show at the NY Javits center is a nightmare.
They have had the usual damage etc that is over the top for most shows. But the worse was when someone took a dump in the back seat of one of the cars.
He also had the union crews take the cars out and park them in downtowm Manhatten with the keys in them before his staff arrived to load them up. Think about how many cars there were and only him to get the keys before someone drove off.
He has some real wild stories.

2010 HHR SS Purchase
We are the new owner of a silver SS with automatic trans. Purchased locally from a dealer that had 3 paid, about $23,000. This is a driver to get us around Las Vegas to Southern California and Arizona, as well as a toad for our motor home. We are retired and hope that the HHR SS is dependable over time, bought the 7 year 70,000 mile warranty - time will tell! Just came back from Southern Califonia and averaged 29 MPG.

Funny you say that, I test drove a black '10 SS 5 speed with the performance pack. I loved it but I still like my turbo gauge better than the center console model. I would like to find a panel in the future as well, I used to be biased but the panel is definately growing on me.
I have the RPD, and a boost gauge.

I'm new to the forum. I bought my 2010 SS new about a month ago. It was also a car show car at the Denver show this spring. The car show cars come directly from GM and then get picked up by a willing dealer. Interestingly, they do not show up on the national list, nor did the dealer advertise it on their website because it doesn't show up in their inventory. I picked it up for about $5,000 under invoice. Lotsa fun!
