XM Installed?

I know this has been brought up before, however, there is so much noise in all the threads I read.

How do I know if my 08 SS is XM ready?

Check your radio for the presence or absence of a "Cat" button on the faceplate, then give this thread a read, it's the least "noisy" of them all.

The radio should display it. Turn to the XM band and go to channel 0 or 1.

Turns out I guess XM isn't activated. Can't switch the band to XM. I have the Cat button and everything else tho. Anyone know what I would have to do to get it to work?

Possibly call XM and give them your VIN and see if they can look it up that way?

Not the "Cat" button. If you change the "Band" button to XM, it should give you the XM preview channel even if you are not subscribed or active.

If you can't change it to XM with the "Band" button, I would say you don't have XM capabilities. Regardless of which radio you have.

If you google "Free XM", https://care.siriusxm.com/preownedve...al_view.action They have a free 2 month trial for new owners of used cars with XM. You don't even have to give them a credit card #...john
