Xtreme Cold Air Intake

Ok guys here is the mock up my CAI. all the loose ends should be tied up within the following week
I still am waiting on the Treadstone MAF straightener, new k&n filter, k&n dry charger wrap, heat shield tape application, and a trip to the junkyard to find a washer fluid reservoir that will fit up front. Other things I am working on while I wait are re-routing some lines that are in the way and extending the washer fluids harness and fluid lines. Going to send an e-mail to zzp to see if they make me and extended connect for the PCV fitting to keep the tube from kinking. NEway, here are some pics for your viewing pleasure. Remember, this is just a mock up and I still to add all the finishing touches but I just couldn't wait to show you guys what Ive been up to the past week.

Sure wish the fog light moulding would have came this way from factory cuz this took FOREVER!!

This makes it all worth while for me. No more box on top of my "soon to be painted" valve cover.

Im impressed with your mod skills. Looks good and functional.
Question? Does that hood strut cause any clearance issues when the hood is closed? (such as rubbing on the inlet hose/filter)

Thanks! When the hood is closed, the strut sits just to the left, about 1/2" from the MAF sensor. If I find indications of any rubbing, I will move the pivot ball mount on the hood closer to the outside.

That setup should work a lot better than a the CAI"s, that suck up the hot underhood air, and call them CAI'S. Should be HAI[H for Hot]. Nice work. "Moon"

Thanks for the kind words everyone. This project has taken ALOT out of me this past week with the holiday and all. Having a hard time stepping out in the heat to do more work in the workshop(aka 2 car garage haha).
Sooo...been spending a lot of time researching the effects the MAF air straightener will have with my set up. I am PRAYING that it will help with the readings. Can't exactly get hard data with the RPD but it helped with getting the car running correctly just by changing filter placement and orientation. I did not get any CEL the two days I left it on the car which included 6 key cycles and some very spirited driving Felt ok but car is a little rich. Not so rich to where it backfires like crazy, but just enough for me to notice based on RPD afr readings.
Will b finishing the heat shield soon and MAF straightener show up l8r this week. If all goes well, car will be track tested friday
