You really need to pull the codes before you do *anything*. Then come back here and get help by searching on the code(s) (i.e. DTC P0010) you pulled from your vehicle. Your issue could be a number of things so please do yourself a favor and pull the codes first.
The fix discussed in this lengthy thread may not fix your vehicle if it is not the same issue!
Many auto parts stores (O'Rielly) will pull your codes for free.
This is one of the best forums I've ever run across. That said, consider yourself blessed you found it!

All,
Tonight on the way home from work, my car experienced the CEL and T/C lites. First the T/C, and about 3 miles down the road, the CEL. So when I got home, I pulled the codes (P0010, P0011 and C0561), then pulled up the GM Service information web site (lucky me - I work for GM) and then here to see what everyone is doing.
This site is awesome and very informative - for non wrencher's and wrencher's alike!
My 2007 2.4L has 115,000 miles.
The only thing I can see different is the procedure specifies engine oil quality, oil pressure, incorrect viscosity and low oil level can also set these codes. It goes on to recommend changing the oil if it is due.
I use only synthetic oil of the correct viscosity in my car and it is changed at more frequent intervals than recommended, is only about 50% into the next scheduled change, and the oil level is fine. I doubt that the oil is my issue, but for others, I can see where it could be.
A multimeter check on the units prior to changing them, will be performed, but I don't believe the resistance value is the definitive and final answer. They could be bad even if they have the correct value.
And... I am going to change the oil prior to doing anything just to see if it makes a difference. If it does, I am sure it won't be for long!
One last thing, the torque value for the solenoid valves fasteners are 10 Nm !

I'm getting the P0011 code with CEL, but haven't had any noticeable issues. This thread has great info on the changeout of the solenoids for a 2.4 L. (And it looks like a job I can perform easily.) Does anyone have advice in terms of difficulties encountered on a 2.2 L?

Do you know if the procedure and part number are the same for a 2007. P0013 code. Replaced exhaust camshaft sensor. Engine light came right back on.

The “sensor” you likely changed is not the “solenoid” that may need to be changed. AND what this thread is addressing.
Others have made this mistake. Seems the code text is misleading as to just what is wrong.

Oh, so correct, however if the resistance measurements are high or open the solenoid(s) are indeed bad. Yes, the electrical function of the solenoids could be just fine, yet have a mechanical problem that would not show up in any electrical test.
