Yep, parts should be here Monday/Tuesday. The light went off again, so I'm hoping we are just being a little proactive by getting them both replaced. But luckily she is not experiencing the rough shifting, etc as others often do.

Thanks again for your help! Have a good weekend.

I was poking around under the hood yesterday and noticed on my 2011 2.2 that Intake & exhaust are cast into the valve cover. So I will not have to ask which one is which.

LOL - oh good - I get a bit nervous giving advice to those that have asked which is which - like maybe they should never open the hood in the first place.

If one cannot tell which is the intake side of the engine, and which is the exhaust side by looking at it ........... At least now they can read it!!!!

I can't believe you guys can do all this stuff yourselves! I don't know ANY men (besides my brother, who WON'T) that can fix cars. Where are you all hiding? We single women need you!

LOL - some of us are just old &arts that learned from experience due to interest, or had nothing better to do, or had no $`s and had to do it out of necessity, or had some friends that helped guide us through all the mistakes we made. Or a combination of of all those. LOL

Or if the truth be known, we learned out of necessity - to keep out of the kitchen!!! ; )

Just one clarification needed before I change these solenoids (10, 11 & 13, 14 codes with "chk engine" light)..., I assume the forward most unit is the intake solenoid & the rear one is the exhaust? In your pictures they are grey plastic top on the front & black plastic top (of the solenoid, itself) for the reaR?

Is that correct or doesn't the color matter?

Thanks!

Stand at the front of the vehicle looking at the two solenoids on the passenger side of the engine. Cast into the aluminum housing just to the left of the solenoid locations you will clearly see the Exhaust and the Intake marked. Can’t miss it, color does matter if using GM parts, if not all bets are off. I believe the connectors are physically keyed so only the respective connectors can be plugged on to the correct solenoid.

Perhaps Whopper could post a clear picture of this in his first post for clarification.
