A thousand thank yous!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this post. Completed this project in about 30 minutes at a cost of $100. The most difficult part was removing the air cleaner housing. The pictures were especially helpful. My car has never run smoother. Thanks again!

Does anyone know if these components are covered under the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty? I only have 68,000 miles and have the codes & CEL intermittently on a 2009 HHR SS 2.0L manual shift.

Yes, if your warranty is still valid within the 5 year period. You do realize it is a 100,000 Miles/5 year warranty?

Not sure if it is pertinent to your question but yesterday under warranty, on my (in 3 weeks to be) 6 year old 2008 HHR SS 2.0L manual with 61000, my dealer "replaced intake cam solenoid valve, cleared codes & test drove to verify repair".

x2 - you bet - get that oil changed soon. The solenoids have been known to get contaminated by dirty oil, so I remember.

to clean out the recess area I pored some denatured alcohol in it them used the shop vac to suck it up. area looked like new. then safely removed solenoid and replaced it.
