Fuel line follies!

The bundy fittings are pretty much standard in North American cars . No real difference, just when you are trying to save a few bucks . Most kits as mentioned earlier in this thread are complete , I suggest soaking the fitting from the fuel tank a few days prior to doing this work.

I hope I don't end up with THAT problem. Looks too much like plumbing. And I have been doing household plumbing for the last 3 weeks or better and I'm about over it! Plumbing manufacturers need their asses beat...just sayin. It is ridiculous it's not standard fittings between brands. Off my soap box.

No, I used the tool from a kit I’ve had for years .
Use the 3/8 or 10 mm tool, put it on the fuel line, slide it up into the coupler, push the couple down to unlock the prongs , then push the tool up until it stops and the pull up the fuel hose fitting . Be gentle and patient

I got most of the way through it but having a hard time connecting to the fuel pump/gas tank. Do you have to squeeze the D shaped connector to get it back on too, or is it just push on? I almost destroyed it getting it off, I dont think it will survive another swearing session.

I lubed the bundy with some silicone grease and slide the coupling into place , gave it a good push to ensure the retainer ring engaged.

So, after all these years, I finally found the insulation product for the fuel lines. At a parts palace in Cape Coral Florida. I’m sure it’s available in many places.
the material is about 2” in diameter, has a Velcro closure so it’s easy to wrap the fuel line and protect it from the exhaust pipe heat.
here’s some photos, maybe some of you have used it already. There is 3’ or more in the package so maybe put some in the back and some up front by the exhaust manifold.
This is the product from DEI
The front of the package
The outside aluminum heat shielding side
The glass mat inside of the material
About 3 feet of material
I can wrap it around my index and middle fingers, so you can wrap both lines at once
The Velcro makes it easy to wrap the fuel lines
