I am so tired of opening the door to turn on the dome light so my kids can see the seatbelt buckles. I just ordered the parts for the steering wheel controls. I need to order these, now.

Good how-to. These mods are making my 2 1/2 year old HHR updated again. :)

Neither Partzoneonline nor GMPartsdirect are showing the F-Terminal.

I can stop at my dealer, but if there's an online source, I'd like to know that, too.

wouldn't there be a concern that this might be a "voided warranty issue" at some later date if the vehicle has electrical issues and ends up in the service bay at a dealer?

In my HHR the rear dome light has 2 lights that you can push to turn on when the doors are closed, which is separate from the light that turns on when the doors are open. Is this not something that is on all HHRs?

Most dealers wouldn't notice the difference. Tech's keep up with repair knowledge, not features knowledge.

Finally got around to doing this today. (I've had the parts for a year!)

Very easy mod and a MUST for any 2006 owners!

Now I can turn the dome light and map lights on with the dimmer switch. This will be so nice when traveling and Caleb's in the back seat and we want to make sure he's okay!

It was so nice last night being able to turn the dome light on remotely to see in the back seat!

One of my favorite mods so far. Still don't understand why Chevy set it up like they did on the 2006's?!

We all have that. But, with this mod, you can control the lights from the front just by turning the dimmer switch. Personally, I have when my kids turn on the back lights, because if they forget to turn them off you will have a dead battery in the morning.

Question No Pics in the how-to

I'm fairly new to the forum and while looking around for some ideas for custom stuff / things I want to do to my 06, I found this (a must have as others say). I only have one issue - NO PICS IN THE WRITE UP!!!

I see a photobucket icon where a pic should be.

Anyone know why or where I can see this write up with pics? I have a bit of wiring know-how, but I'd rather SEE what I should be doing.

Please let me know. Thanks!!
