Those are neet looking rims.
Why did Chevy do that plastic cover.

It was after the Pontiac name was put to pasture, they thought they were covering up the unused parts!

All they had to do was put a bowtie center cap on! Didn't have to clad them like that.

They thought it was clever. One spoke has a hole in it , that could be the reason. I don’t see any logic in the plastic cap bonded on with silicone.

I done with the primer, colour coats and clear coats, the rims look good, yes I remembered not to go nuts because they are my winter rims and snow tires. I measured the centre for the cap, ordered a set from Amazon, they’ll be here tomorrow. Then back in the shed till tire change day , Nov 1

I’m letting them cure overnight.

They look great? What products did you use to coat them, precisely?

Duplicolor, self etching prime, Duplicolor wheel paint Graphite gray, and Duplicolor gloss clear coat. I applied a light coat , waited 10 minutes then another light coat, waited 15 minutes then a little heavier coat for the last primer, then let that cure a bit over night. Repeated next day at same time in the afternoon for the colour coat, then next day for the clear coat. I used 1 can of primer, 2 cans of colour tge 1 can of clear coat.
coverage is very good and I refrained from my usual tendency to spray to much paint and waste it.

Only 1 can of clear for 4 rims ? I would use a 2nd can for more coats.
