Bought Used HHR
I just bought a 2011 HHR from a dealer i think it was a program car.Got a heck of a deal on it with 37000 miles on the clock.Thing is i got just one key with it ok i solved that problem by ordering one off amazon and got a local locksmith to cut it.Question is was i supposed to get a keyless entry fob also,i dont know how to tell if the car came with one or not.

to the forum tryn2hrd, and congrats on your new ride!
Yes you should have gotten two key fobs with your HHR, I'd go back to the dealer and ask them what's up? If they cannot supply the fobs, they are available from Chevrolet or on e-bay, but there will be programming required for them to work.

Up to four remote fobs can be programmed into your vehicle. Having gone thru this myself recently, may I suggest if you do end up paying someone to program new fob(s) with the required Tech II scanner. You might want to research the remote start thread here to determine if your vehicle has this nonutilized feature available (then again maybe you already have a fob with this). I ended up using ebay seller YOURKEYLESSREMOTE @ less than $20 per new fob and having a small independent shop program ($50) multiple new fobs for me at much less than the big garage with the bowtie over the door.
Ended up with three programmed fobs, mention this because it wasn't until I was ready to leave that I learned he left one of the original missing fobs programmed in; had I known this while he was performing the act, I would have had him delete it on the remote* chance that someone in town has a still working fob for this vehicle.
* play on words, but then if I have to explain it, is it really?

Welcome! I'm a new addition as well. Also bought a 2011 that came from a rental fleet. I'm getting used to buying used cars missing key fobs and owner's manuals. I bought from a Chevy dealer and they agreed to provide a second key and fob as part of the deal. Thought the owner's manual was missing (not in the glove box) but discovered it in one of the little bins just behind the back seats. So far only good surprises!
