First HHR, second LNF car

Howdy!

I first owned an 09 SS Sedan a few years ago. Had to let it go to buy a house. Had k&n and a tune. Blast to drive. Miss it everyday

Fast forward to now, decided to search for an HHR SS. Found a high mileage 08 Orange one near me. 240k miles. Og turbo, chain, engine, trans. Pretty dirty on the inside, needs brakes, tires, fuel line and it's auto. Decided to say **** it and try out an auto LNF car.

So far replaced all wipers, fixed clogged sunroof drain, and installed dual a pillar pod so I can watch trans temps

Hope to learn a bit more about the HHR specifically on here! I'm in central NJ

You will enjoy that HHR SS , don’t be afraid to ask questions before you dive into any repairs, some parts are SS spcefic! Like lower control arms!! Among other things.
keep it clean and drive it often.

Thank you! Yeah I ordered a driver's side arm, pass side is on back order. Clunk out of front for sure. I'm just gonna refresh the whole suspension I think lol. Mileage makes sense for that. I fixed fuel line and did oil change. No chain rattles and turbo spools great. Cooling fan is wobbly so ordered one. Brakes are actually ok. Tires suck ass though lol. Trying to find lnf cobalt wheels

Make sure to measure the ball joint studs to be sure you get SS control arms. They are different and most vendors don't know/care.

Yup, FE5 arms. It looks like pass side is on back order.

What Don was saying is, Hope you ordered the GM AC Delco FE5 arms. They are the ONLY ones that are have the correct SS larger ball joint stud. If you ordered any other brand, they will be the wrong ones.(yes, many of those other brands claim their arms fit the FE5 but that's incorrect)

Perfect! The correct ball joints make a huge difference in the clunking front end and avoid damage to the steering knuckles. KYB struts and shocks are good replacement parts as are Bilstein , did I mention the RockAuto discount code?

Frequently rock Auto shopper here haha good ol 5% every time. Ordered the fan and driver's side arm from them. I'm just hoping the passenger one becomes available again. I'm guessing I might be out of luck and might have to take mine out and replace everything in it

There are no replacement ball joints that bolt in, if the ball joint is good , just click on the notification button for when they are back in stock.
