Greetings from Rough & Ready
Greetings from beautiful downtown Rough & Ready, N.E. California.! There really is such a place, we have our own zip code and everything... It's where the men are rough, and the women are ready.
I was waiting for some funds (finally got 'em) to order a panel LT1; looks like I might have waited too long, though. I read that GM is shutting down 10 of 13 plants in the near future. My sales rep can't/won't tell me which plants, or when they'll be closing; I guess they don't really know, either. I did order it, but he said, "Don't hold yer breath".
This will be (maybe) the first new car I've ever owned. My '89 Cavalier Coupe has 160 K, and is finally getting somewhat tired. It still has the original clutch...
I've been lurking here for about three weeks, checking out the various mods you guys are doing. What this forum needs is a 'Vendor' section, showing a list of all of the vendors with aftermarket parts for HHR's.
I wanted a 5 speed, but it ain't available w/ the 2.4 engine. I think that that sucks. I drove a Cobalt (same tranny?) with an auto, and I can't stand how it shifts, and, it didn't seem to have any compression breaking at all. I would settle for the auto if I could find a good shift kit for the 4T45E tranny. Ideas?
BTW, I can't seem to make the map thingy work?
Tha tha tha that's all for now,
Mo

Welcome to the forum
I have an 09 LS Panel as I really wanted a panel, needed it ASAP and it was the only one around in my whole area. Panels are rare, the only thing rarer seems to be the half panel version. My suggestion to you would be to ask the dealer to search and see what panels he can find for you and consider if you can live with one that is already available. It might be a long time before you can get a panel custom made to your specs. As far as the auto/5 speed thing I agree. This is the first auto I have had in any vehicle except my Diesel Dually for over 20 years. Again I had to take the auto since it was the only thing available. I think your likely to have a hard time finding a 5 speed as they really seem to make most of these vehicles with automatics. I am amazed at the amount of automatic SS equipped cars there are out there too.

Auto shift kits??
Guys,
Thanks for the welcomes...
I'm still trying to find out whether there is a shift kit available for the 4T45-E auto transmission?
I would definately settle for an auto if one is available, plus, I could get the 2.4 engine...
