Smile Hello from Chicago!

Hello ChevyHHR community!

I just bought a 2010 HHR SS/T (Auto) from my local Chevy dealer with 14K on it and I LOVE it so far. I had a 2005 Pontiac Vibe and I loved the verastility but the power was a bit lacking.

I was going to keep this car stock but after seeing everything everyone else has done I am itching to get customizing this beast. I am getting the Stage 1 kit from my dealer some time this week. Just wanted to say hi! I am an IT guy so feel free to ask computer questions.

And here she is:

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I am actually thinking about getting the Stage 1 as I can get it @ cost and installed free as my first mod.

I have the auto and I am still on the fence whether I made the right choice or not. I am trying to figure out how the "Launch Control" works as I will be taking this to a drag strip and want to see what it does. I also am disappointed to see that the HP is lower on the auto (sales person told me otherwise at the time) and no LSD. I am coming from a 2005 Pontiac Vibe so this car is amazing in comparison.

Any opinions on the auto versus manual? Did I make a mistake? I went with the auto as I got a used one (only one that was manual in my area was a new 2010 and the dealer wanted over $28K for it.) for about $9k less.

Personally, 5sp is my preference.. I wouldn't have it any other way.. 5sp SS HHR w/o stg 1 is 260hp.. with stg 1 I understand it to be 290hp.. just make sure they don't just splice the connections and that they actually solder them..

Once the Turbo Upgrade is done the HP is the same for both the Auto and Manual: 290.
