Hello from Lincoln Nebraska
Hello everyone,
Just picked up a 2007 Black 1LT with 18,800 miles. Took me about 9 months to find this vehicle color, low miles for warranty piece of mind and with 90% of the 2LT options.
I had a 2005 Black PT Cruiser Limited Signature series turbo with 34,000 miles that I bought new in March of 05.
About 6 months after I bought it I wished I had looked at the HHRs.
Had my PT completely paid off in 3 years and then started looking for a great used HHR.
My old PT was fully loaded so it would of been hard for me to get a HHR that wasn't comparable in the extra toy department.
The only major options I gave up were the heated leather seats, turbo, built in garage door opener, and on-board Nav system.
I was barely using the heated seats since I have an insulated garage and my car never gets very cold.
I actually prefer cloth seats in the summer time so the seat change didn't bother me at all.
I am on my second garmin GPS, because I believe portable GPS systems are better than my on-board one due to the fast pace improvements and the significant price drops. So giving up the built in GPS was easy to do since I hadn't used it for two years.
The turbo in the PT was nice and it had better acceleration from a stop then the 2.4L on my HHR, but it was killing me in MPG. I was only getting 17/22 on my PT and it was really making me mad for such a compact vehicle with a 4 cyl, even with a turbo.
This was the main reason I wanted the HHR.
The only option I actually do miss was the Built-in 3 button garage door opener in the visor.
The things I gained with the HHR were:
Much better MPG, Bigger Cargo area, ABS, Traction control, Remote start, premium sound, Quieter and smoother ride, 17 vs 16 inch Chrome wheels, DIC, DRL, looks bigger, cheaper insurance, actually went down a little with identical coverage even though a 2 year newer model then the PT.
The nicest surprise so far was the difference in the recommended maintenance. I couldn't believe that with the exception of minor inspections, the only really costs for maintenance for the first 100,000 miles are the oil changes that occur only when you really need them and not the normal recommended 3 months or 3,000 mile whether your car really needs it or not.
After I bought the PT, I looked at the maintenance schedule and couldn't believe the number of maintainance tasks and the costs associated with what Chrysler was recommending. I would of gone broke with the number of fluid and filter changes Chrysler wanted done while owning the vehicle.
I have already found some great info surfing this community and I want to thank everyone for their input. I look forward to contributing my thoughts and info and I am sure as the months go by, I will be even more pleased with my new HHR.

WELCOME from SoCal and welcome (finally) to the HHR familia!!
GREAT color choice!
A little extra effort to keep clean--but you know this having had a black PT--but certainly worth the effort!
