Wink Hello from Oklahoma

Hello from Oklahoma!! I just purchased my first HHR SS yesterday evening and I am already in LOVE with it. Hope to get some good advice on all the mods I can do. It's my understanding from the man I purchased it from it has a stage 1 gm computer upgrade... Is this something that sounds legit or something they come with factory?

Hello JessWithTheSS,
Welcome & Congrats on your new vehicle!

If you would like me to send you any information like a build sheet for your model I'd be more than happy to. Please private message me with your contact information, VIN, mileage and name of dealer.

Many happy miles to you in your new HHR!

Thank you,
Sara

Welcome to the site.

Stage 1 or GM Turbo Upgrade(GMTU) is a dealer installed, Chevy Perf. upgrade.
Ups the 260hp/260tq to 290hp/315tq. Around a $700 upgrade.

Welcome! The gm stage one kit is somewhat common with these so it is possible. Dont know if I have ever seen a dealership sell one but Im sure they have!

First one I test drove but looked at numerous, fell in love with it and had to have it. So far I am very pleased with it but this is only going on my 3rd day of owner ship. Seller did tell me it had the stage 1 upgrade and also doing some checking around under the hood it has a black box that says k&n. Ill be honest I'm no car guru but I've been lead to believe that is also a performance upgrade ??

Could just be the lid, but it probably has a K&N filter, and the intake tube. I like mine runs stronger with it. Lot's of these SS's wont run that without an aftermarket tune....you might have that too.
