Hi from MN! '09 HHR 1LT in Victory Red!
Hello! Thought I would close out my weekend with an introductory post from Minnesota, greeting myself as part of this forum and telling you a little more about my car!
I'm James, and on Friday, I purchased a 2009 HHR locally from a dealership. It has roughly 110K miles, in very clean shape, and very minimal body and trim defects. It's the brightest car I've ever owned--a lovely and sharp Victory Red with Ebony interiors.
This is my sixth car, and I'm still settling on a suitable name for it. As circumstances would have it, my fifth car gave me plenty of opportunity to turn a wrench on a lot. It was a 2004 Subaru Forester XS that I maintained through several cooling system issues. Sadly, my ability to safely commute was the biggest factor in finding a suitable used-car replacement. I self-diagnosed a head gasket failure, and suspected there was a timing belt or water pump issue that I just couldn't take time to resolve. I'm going to send it to a family friend to see if it's worth the repair effort.
I am eager to dive into the forum properly and start looking for possible fixes and how-to's on a couple of the "quirks" that come with a ten-year-old car (rattles and blown speakers notwithstanding), but, most importantly, I want to take the time to get to know everyone here and connect with this community.
Thanks for reading! P.S. I will have pictures soon!
