I guess Hello

I have a 2007 HHR LS that I bought new in 2007. She has 65000 miles on her now and I really just drive her when its raining or cold as I ride a H-D most of the time. My idea was to give the truck to my 16 year old daughter this year as her first car, but she ABSOLUTELY HATES IT. Well, i have been stalking looking for ideas of what I want to do to the truck and this site has helped alot. I wish I could get more of a traditional ENGINE sound from the exhaust but this little four banger is kinda "rice-like". Just wanted to say hi and thank you for a great forum.

Welcome! From a fellow Houstonian. Yeah, you are not going to get much of a muscle car sound from these things but there are some nice aftermarket exhausts out there that sound good. Maybe you will find one you like. I know there are some guys here that can help you with that.

Too bad about the daughter not liking it. Have a son that will want it? If not I guess you get to keep it for our BAD winter driving....lol.

Welcome to the site.

Sounds like she prefers riding the bus. :-)

Welcome to the site. You will not get no v-8 growl from these, obviously. I personally cant find a way to justify the price of an exhaust, and gain very little from it. I decided to get the resonator and second cat deleted. And it sounds good to me. It really is depper than i thought it would be. Does crackle a lot when reved. I like the crackling myself but not everyone does. Doesnt have that ricey tin can sound. But to each their own.

Heres a link to mine for a reference.

Im 24, and this was the first car I actually bought for myself. My parents gave me a '93 thunderbird when I was in high school that was ok, but nothing beats an HHR in my eyes.

I hear teenage/young adult girls these days like either late model Mitsubishi Eclipses or Smart cars, but like whopper said, sounds like she enjoys riding the bus

My daughter wants a bug. Cause she knows the blue SS is going no where. Really She said with a custom pink paint job, probably evolving flowers, She could dig a HHR. They really carry all Her cheerleader crapola nicely.
