I love this car.

I love this car.
Sadly, my mother-in-law recently passed away. Which is a terrible way to get a new car, but her 2007 HHR LT (Imperial Blue) came to us, and I haven't had this much affection for a car in a very, very long time. I'm in Portland, OR, and I see a fair amount of HHRs around town, but it's still rare enough that I catch people checking it out pretty much every time I'm on the road.
She took extraordinarily good care of the car, and it's beautiful. Despite taking a few cross-country road trips, it still has just 64K miles on it, it's clean as a whistle and she kept up all the maintenance like a trooper. My husband and I really, really liked the HHR when she owned it, and she knew we'd love it as much as she did.
I've been driving it for a couple of weeks now, and I enjoy it every time I'm behind the wheel. The size is just right -- we had a Toyota Highlander for a couple of years, and it was bigger than I really wanted. The HHR has a nice height that lets you have a bit more visibility, but at 5'4" I don't have to climb to get in. It handles well, and the gas mileage is surprisingly good.
And it's gorgeous. It's parked outside and I can see it from my desk, and I just enjoy looking at it. I love the lines, and that it kind of looks like an old-timey gangster car. It's unique.
I ended up finding this forum because I didn't have a full owner's manual and was trying to figure some things out. It's very nice to see a community of people who feel the same enthusiasm for their HHR that I'm feeling for mine. And I LOVE looking at the amazing mods some of you have done.
