Just got my 2009 HHR SS last weekend and wanted to say Hi

Hi All of you HHR'ers,

My name is Dave and I live in Northern VA. I purchased my HHR SS last weekend (24 Jan) from Jim McKay's Chevy in Fairfax VA.

I got a '09 Aqua Blue HHR SS with a sunroof, monsoon stereo, and the performance package (Brembo brake w/ limited slip diff). Believe it or not I never sat in one until last weekend, and had never seen an SS model. But I read your forum and a lot of other resources and decided this would be a fun vehicle to get, and I have been very happy with the purchase.

My other vehicles are: the HHR's big brother - a 2007 Trailblazer SS (6.0L), '92 Mitsu 3000GT VR-4 Twin Turbo - purchased new and have a few show trophies, and two - '05 Harley Davidson VRSCSE - Screamin Eagle V-Rod's, ok one is my Wife's. As my insurance company said I don't own slow vehicles.

I am looking forward to driving and enjoying my new HHR and look forward to meeting some of you on the road sometime.

Thanks for having such an active and informative forum.

Dave

P.S. So far I have ordered a set of LED tail lights, and I am considering a set of Vent Visors, don’t know if I should go in-channel or just the outside stick on, any input would be appreciated. Tks again Dave

I got the inchannels on my SS, Dave, I'm happy with them. I don't like the outside ones on my vehicles. Just look too shabby.
I suppose you will be looking into the GM Stage 1 upgrade also. It is a must...

Thanks Everyone,

I'll try to get some pics tomorrow, it snowed mid-week or so and it a little messy but I plan on washing it tomorrow. I have order the LED light and plan on ordering the weather tech visors, in-channel. What I like about them is they appear to even look as though they cover the solid rear part of the back windows, if only on the outside.

Thanks again for the warm welcome,

Dave

P.S. TomW, The first new car my Father had was a 64 Impala SS Daytona blue, 4 speed with a 327 engine, that was a neat car, so I know of what you speak. r/D.
